Excessive moisture is the single largest cause of deterioration to buildings. \u00a0<\/span>At best it can be a nuisance and make a room feel cold, unwelcoming and unhealthy. \u00a0At worst it can indicate structural issues with the property and new studies warn that it is detrimental to health. \u00a0Damp is caused by an excess of moisture and i<\/span>t is essential that excessive moisture is prevented or eliminated from areas intended to be dry.<\/span><\/p>\n

Damp is often referred to as \u2018rising damp\u2019 or \u2018penetrating damp\u2019 but there are many causes of damp in a property that your surveyor will be looking for.<\/span><\/p>\n
